After the great success of HSDC 2015 – 2024, we are pleased to bring you the ‘High School Dance Competition 2025’ (HSDC 2025). This year we are excited to announce that HSDC 2025 will run in conjunction with the Primary School Dance Competition 2025 (PSDC 2025). *Tentative date: 2nd August 2025 – Please note that the venue and dates are subject to change.
HSDC is a freestyle dance competition designed to encourage students to engage in activities beyond the classroom. It provides a platform that promotes teamwork, builds confidence, and inspires students to connect culturally through the art of dance.
Participating in HSDC is a fun and exciting way to make new friends and develop important social skills through collaboration with other students. Group choreography nurtures teamwork, communication, trust, and cooperation. HSDC believes that dance is not only a creative outlet but also an opportunity to build life skills such as discipline, confidence, self-esteem, and focus. One of the most powerful benefits of dance is its ability to spark imagination and celebrate individuality.
Competition theme:
Bollywood refers to the Hindi-language film industry based in Mumbai, India. The Bollywood dance style is known for its vibrant energy and fusion of various dance forms, including Indian Classical, Folk, Hip Hop, Breakdance, and Salsa. It is expressive and entertaining, featuring quick footwork and intricate hand movements.
HSDC is a freestyle competition, which means performances can be choreographed in any dance style. However, the base music must be a Bollywood movie song, which can be creatively remixed with other language songs or music styles.
We look forward to seeing your school, friends, and family get involved in this exciting celebration of dance and culture!
HSDC 2025 will be held in person. Registrations close 15/07/2025
